Lions of
Wyoming Foundation
GOALS &
OBJECTIVES
1. The purpose (s) of our organization:
A. To provide quality programs and services for the treatment of sight related problems for the citizens of Wyoming.
2. When was the organization founded?
The Foundation was founded in November of 1983, and the first regular meeting was held on February 5, 1984, in Casper, Wyoming.
3. How is the organization governed?
A Board of Trustees manages the property and affairs of the Foundation. Inherent with this duty is the attendance at the four regular meetings held in February, May August, and November of each year. The trustees are to attend any special meetings and be part of conference calls. Area Trustees are encouraged to visit the Lions clubs within their area. It is the board's responsibility to promote the Foundation and its programs. Trustees do not receive any remuneration for their services.
4. How are the funds used?
The money will be used for special circumstances.
A. Whenever communities experience a disaster whether caused by nature or man, said community through their Lion/Lioness Club or neighboring club can request disaster relief funds from the Foundation.
B. Lion/Lioness Clubs or other organizations can make requests to the Lions of Wyoming Foundation for a grant. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, all grants released by the Foundation under this category to Lion/Lioness Clubs or other organizations shall be for projects that are clearly sight related, the blind, or the seeing impaired.
5.
How does the organization receive its basic financial
support?
Financial support comes primarily from fund raising projects, Lion/Lioness contributions, Endowment funds, and gifts from Trusts or other Foundations.
6.
Does the organization receive any federal, state, or
local government financing or funding?
NONE
7.
How do we use volunteers in our programs or projects?
Lions Clubs International is truly a volunteer organization. The success of the Wyoming Foundation depends on the participation of the Lions at the club level. The Lions of Wyoming sell the tickets to make our raffles successful. Lions are given the opportunity to invest individually to many Foundation programs such as the Endowment Program, Gold Lion, Legacy Program, and the Engraved Brick Program. Activities held by the local Lions Clubs to raise money for the Foundation are successful because of the Lion members of the club.
8.
How many employees, including staff, are on the
payroll?
The Foundation has one employee.
That person is the Executive Director of the Foundation.
