Ted Wenckus
WYOMING DISTRICT GOVERNOR
Several years ago, Ted Wenckus was born in the soon-to-be 'booming' town of Gillette, Wyoming. Only months old, his family moved to Story, Wyoming. He grew up 'helping' in the family grocery store and attending the Story Grade School. During that time, Ted's father, Stanley Wenckus, was one of the 'charter members' of the Story Lions Club.
I thank all Wyoming Lions for giving me this opportunity to SERVE YOU! I am very proud and gratified to have been elected as your District Governor for the 2011-2012 term.
I have chosen ENERGIZE as the Governor's Theme. My goal, with help from my team, is to energize our clubs "in need" and encourage membership growth with folks that have the desire to serve their communities; introduce fresh, new and exciting projects; and revitalize our existing clubs where needed. In my visits to many of the clubs in Wyoming, I have been repeatedly asked to help 're-grow' membership, providing the energy needed to go forward in the tradition of their original charter years. I strongly believe if we do not encourage membership growth with energetic men and women, we will lose the opportunity we have to create a strong and powerful Wyoming Lions Organization. Everything is in place - we can't let it fade away!
I request every Lion to help in this most important mission. Look to your family, friends and new acquaintances, and just ask the question: "Would you be interested in serving your community?" Then say, "JOIN US, THAT'S WHAT WE DO - AND WE NEED YOU!" That is my 'CALL TO ACTION', my request to each and every Lion; it's time to ENERGIZE!
